Neumann Receives ‘A’ Rating from National Rifle Association
Candidate will protect the rights of hunters, gun owners

ALPENA – State House candidate Andy Neumann (D-Alpena) today announced that he has received an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund in his bid to serve the residents of the 106th House District.

“I am honored to receive an ‘A’ rating from the NRA,” said Neumann, an Alpena native and avid hunter. “Here in Northern Michigan, hunting and gun ownership are proud traditions that play a vital role in our special way of life. As State Representative, I will fight to protect our Second Amendment rights and be a strong voice for gun owners and gun safety.”

A candidate who receives an “A” rating from the NRA is considered a “solidly pro-gun candidate,” according to the NRA. During his four years in the House of Representatives, Neumann was a strong advocate for gun rights, voting in favor of a plan to make it easier to carry concealed weapons and against a plan that would limit gun purchases to one gun per month.

In addition to serving as State Representative, Neumann has also served as an Alpena County Commissioner and as a firefighter and paramedic for the city of Alpena. In his bid to represent the 106th District, Neumann has pledged to help create good-paying jobs, invest in education and protect our natural resources and special way of life.

“Our working families are struggling to get by,” Neumann said. “As State Representative, I will work to create more good-paying jobs for our residents and protect every job we have from being outsourced. Just as I will stand up for the rights of responsible gun owners, I will stand up for our workers, too.”
