Creating good-paying jobs now

As State Representative, my No. 1 priority will be maintaining and creating jobs for Northern Michigan residents. I will support programs that retrain our workers for new positions and will work to diversify our economy and attract job-providers in cutting-edge fields such as renewable energy.

Expanding educational opportunities

Education is the driving force behind getting our economy back on track. Michigan must produce a highly-skilled workforce in order to be a powerhouse of the 21st century global economy. I will fight to ensure that all schools receive the funding they need to succeed.

Improving access to quality health care

No Michigan resident should have to choose between paying for groceries or getting their prescription drugs. I will fight to lower the skyrocketing cost of health care, and I support a plan giving residents the ability to hold big drug companies liable when their products harm or kill.

Protecting the Great Lakes and other natural resources

People come from around the country to boat, fish and enjoy the Great Lakes and our other water sources. Water plays a vital role in our special way of life here in Northern Michigan. That’s why I support a plan that will effectively ban the diversion of Great Lakes water from outside the Great Lakes basin and keep our most precious resource here where it belongs.
